Hey everyone! This is Scott from AndroidGuys doing a little bit of guest posting for GAB. Michael was kind enough to let me write an article or two for this site while he’s away attending to business. I’m very excited to help out and today we’ve got a really great piece for you.
There’s a newly uncovered document that looks to be an official drawing of the G1 device from T-Mobile. An anonymous tipster sent over a picture to us and says he works closely with one of the three companies involved in the handset. That puts the guy/gal in either T-Mobile, HTC, or Google’s camp, or close to someone who is.
So take a look at that bottom of the device. See that? It’s a little chin! Not quite a banana phone, but it’s unlike anything we’ve seen before. What do you guys think of this design?
There are scores of fanboys out there dissecting the image and trying to figure out the exact screen size. So far, the general consensus is that it’s about 3.3″ diagonal. The thickness puts it somewhere between the iPhone and an HTC Touch Diamond.
Also of note is the logos for MyFaves, HTC, and Google all get displayed. I wonder if this is indicative of what the Open Handset Alliance has in store? Google branding handsets might help push the credibility a little bit further.
I’ll be back with more information for you folks as we get it. If you have any tips you’d like to share with us, feel free to do so!
I’m sorry if this is off topic and/or a stupid question, but I have been searching for the answer for a long time and I can’t seem to find any information:
Is Android going to be available to install on any handset a user wishes?
Android has the ability to be loaded on most handsets, but its up to the phone manufacturer and to a limited extent the service provider to grant you the access needed to do so.
