Why, when it comes to tethering with Android, everyone goes on and on about rooting, and nobody mentions an app that does tethering out of the box, without rooting, and very easily: PDANet. http://www.junefabrics.com/android/index.php It's even free after the trial expires (albeit only for HTTP connections).

1 will this function with vista.
2 you have settings for firefox but what about ie7.

I don’t think the killswitch would work here. The killswitch only really works on Android Market content. If they tried to kill an unsigned app, one could simply tweak the app to bypass the blockade.

And, since the FCC imposed net neutrality on carriers, tethering restrictions aren’t legally binding, either.
