Will the HTC Click with the Android Masses?

Posted on Jul 21, 2009 by Michael Martin in gPhones | 4 Comments

The HTC Click looks to be the first attempt at a low end smartphone device at the under $100 price point to attract the masses to Android at the Holiday Season.

Loic Kempf of the French Android site PointGPhone shared the underground photos of this purported Android phone on the cheap.

This is exactly whats needed to get Android exposure and appeal to a mass audience in tandem with the Magic / myTouch3G & Hero encroaching on the high end market currently dominated by the iPhone.

It also mirrors what the PC did to the Mac with its mass distribution and low price point in the previous decades – incidentally what Microsoft is touting in its latest commercials.

No further information is available as to whats inside the HTC Click as far as specs or a release date and market distribution, but my best guess is that it will be in time for the Holiday Season on a fairly global scale especially in China and Europe.
