One of the oddest 2009 predictions comes from Disney saying that the new Google phone and Android will “flop”.
No, its not THAT Disney, but Brandon Disney Director of Operations at Data Doctors, a computer service company in Phoenix Arizona.
Disney who co-hosts a weekly radio show called “Computer Corner” boldly tells KTAR News that not only will Android flop in 2009 but GPS will be everywhere and Microsoft will get together with Blackberry maker RIM.
Don’t tell that to the over 18,000 Google employees who are getting the G1 as a Christmas bonus.
*** Brandon replied back to me stating, “Part of what was printed was taken a little out of context re: Android. Given the state of the economy and the fact that they are “late to the game” I said that I didn’t think it would do as well as originally expected and that without Google’s decision to allow Android to go open source, it may have well been a flop.” ***
Over a million G1’s sold in just the short while its been available, downloadable apps on the marketplace is skyrocketing, and dozens of new android-based phones coming in 2009. Oh, and its all backed by one of the most successful IT companies of our time. Yeah, clearly android will flop.
well that didn’t turn out to be the case now did it.
what they should of foreseen is the rapid growth of the android platform and the eventual downfall of the iphone.
